O come to the altar
The Father’s arms are open wide
Forgiveness was bought with
The precious blood of Jesus Christ

Church Family,

These lyrics from a song we sang last night at the end of our WOW service are still going through my head today. We had an awesome time last night at WOW! If you haven’t been to these services, you are missing the BEST thing we’ve had going this summer, bar none. You have 3 more chances to get in on it. People are getting real and the fellowship is real good. Plus, we feed you beforehand!

Our annual Blood Drive through Carter Blood care is this coming Wednesday, August 9th, from 4-8pm. We’ve had just a few sign up and we need several  more to help save lives. The list is on the welcome center table. It takes just a few minutes and the benefits to those in need can be life-saving.

T.A.G. is having a couple of events this weekend. Their quarterly craft day will be Saturday from 9am-4pm in the Hearts & Hands room. Any lady is invited to come and join in on the fun and fellowship. Bring anything you like to do or projects you are working on, or just come empty-handed

T.A.G. will also have a PotLuck and planning meeting on Sunday after worship. All ladies are invited. They will be planning activities for the coming months.

All Children’s Workers and anyone interested in helping plan for the fall Children’s ministries is invited to a meeting Sunday at 6pm in Fellowship Hall.

Pray for your Minister of Students Search Committee. They have been meeting weekly and it looks like things are coming together very nicely.

We need to get back to the basics of life
A heart that is pure, and a love that is blind
A faith that is fervently grounded in Christ
The hope that endures for all time
These are the basics, we need to get back to the basics of life

Church Family,

We are having a great week of Vacation Bible School! Our new directors, Rickey and Stephanie Parker, are doing a super job of keeping everything flowing and I’m hearing that the children are having a blast! Tonight will be our last full night and we will have our family night program tomorrow night at 6:30 pm. You are welcome to join us!

We had one pray to receive Christ last night and will be baptizing another this Sunday!

Next Wednesday we will resume W.O.W. services for 4 more weeks. If you haven’t tried it, you need to come check out W.O.W.

T.A.G. ladies will have a PotLuck & Planning on Sunday, August 6th, following the morning service.

Church Family,

I hope you are having a great week. I’ve had a great week myself of study and working plus the East Texas Baptist Campmeeting each evening. You still have two more opportunities to attend this great event at the Canton Civic Center – tonight and tomorrow night. Jeff & Sheri Easter will be special musical guests tonight and the Original Bob Wills Family will be there Friday night. Each night Living Proof, the Erwins and the Rochesters sing as well. Dr. Ergun Caner, a converted Muslim will be preaching tonight and Dr. Ronnie Barefield, who is not only a great preacher but is hilarious, will be preaching tomorrow night. The pre-service music festival starts about 5:40 and the regular service starts about 7pm.

The big news coming up is 3 simple words . . . Vacation . . . Bible . . . School . . . It starts Sunday night at 6:30 pm. There is a meal for VBS workers and their families at 5:30 pm. Spread the word about VBS! I’m very excited about the theme of “Back to the Basics”. There’s been a lot of work going into gettting “the structure” in the gym ready for the kids to have their mission time and it’s going to be a great week.

Blood Drive is coming up on Wednesday, August 9, from 4-8pm. You can sign up on the Welcome Center table in the foyer and I’ll have online sign up available as well. If you have an online account setup with Carter Blood Care you just use that info, or you can set one up and it will recall your past donations.

Church Family,

I hope you are having a blessed week. We had maybe our best WOW service to date last night. If you are not attending these battery-charge services in the middle of the week, you are missing a blessing. We had a sweet spirit in the service Sunday morning as well. I have had a number of people comment to that end.

The next few weeks will get a little crazy with VBS Starting on the 23rd. We are still looking for classes/groups to take care of the VBS workers pre-service meal on Monday and Tuesday the 24th & 25th.

This Sunday we will have regular morning services and nothing scheduled for the evening. I’m encouraging you to join me at Lake Fork Baptist Church in Alba for the East Texas Baptist Campmeeting Pre-Campmeeting Rally at 6pm. The Erwins and the Rochesters will be providing music and there will be a powerful message from Scott Matthews. The Campmeeting will be this coming Monday-Friday, 7pm each evening at the Canton Civic Center. Pre-service music festival starts about 5:40. Bring your lawn chairs, enjoy the air conditioning and the great preaching/singing each night.

Other announcements are in the bulletin, which can be viewed here:

Be blessed – See you Sunday!

I’m no longer a slave to fear
I am a child of God
I’m no longer a slave to fear
I am a child of God

“We cannot define the work of God in our lives by the pleasantness of our circumstances”

Church Family,

I hope your week is off to a blessed beginning. Sunday was a good day to be in The House. Along with a great time in our morning Bible Study and worship, we had a great first meeting of the Minister of Students Search Team and another great S.O.S. meeting. Some folks didn’t leave the church until 9pm. It was a full and good day.

I hope you are planning on joining us tomorrow for our annual July 4th event at Winona ISD Baseball and Softball Fields. We will start at 7pm with softball, great music and continue with that until dark. At that time we will have a spectacular fireworks show. Special musical guests will be Heather Harper and the Bluez Boyz band. The setup may look a little different than in year’s past but it won’t be hard to figure out. Bring a lawn chair and your family and come for a good time.

In light of so many being so involved on July 4th, we will have no evening activities on Wednesday, July 5th. We’ll resume with WOW next week.

Be blessed,

Bro. Tony

All these pieces, broken and scattered
In mercy gathered, mended and whole
Empty-handed, but not forsaken
I’ve been set free, I’ve been set free
Church Family,
I hope you are having a wonderful week. This is a busy time of year for our church. We’ve already had GA’s and Youth go to camp. This week, we have 4 students and a leader at Super Summer, and soon we will have RA’s going to camp. Not to mention, we are less than 4 weeks from the start of VBS.
Sunday was a great day and a very productive day in The House. We had a super Spirit here Sunday morning and some great worship. Sunday afternoon we had a great meeting with VBS Workers, a very productive Church Conference and a great S.O.S. meeting.
There is still room for you to work in VBS. Ours will be held on Sunday, July 23 through Thursday, July 27, from 6:30-8:30 pm each evening. If you are interested in serving, you can see Rickey or Stephanie Parker, who are our VBS directors this year.
In our church conference, we approved budget increases in a number of ministry areas, thanks to YOUR obedient giving of tithes and offerings to the general fund of the church. These increases should keep us from having to have fund-raisers for the forseable future and encourage us to obey the Lord by bringing the tithes into the storehouse, or general fund of the church.
Also, in our church conference, Building & Grounds Committee brought a recommendation to remodel the ladies restroom in the foyer, using the designated funds that have been allotted. Once that is completed, there is a plan in place to turn the men’s restroom into a single use, family restroom, complete with changing table, that will be handicapped accessible. This has been a long time coming and I’m excited to see it come to pass! Thanks to all of the committees who had a hand in this along the way, starting with Long-Range Planning Committee, down to Capital Fundraising Committee, and then to Building & Grounds.
Deacons shared that they will be bringing a recommendation at next Church Conference to add Danny Thompson as an active deacon. Danny has been previously ordained and has more than proven himself as a servant and one who is committed to the Lord and this church.
Election was held for Minister of Students Search Team as well. Members are Machelle Burnham, Eric Dailey, Sissy Kennemer, James Levee, Sherri Smith, Tim Vassar and Aaron Wilson, with Steve Smith as alternate. I believe this will be a great team and will do a great job of seeking God’s face in regard to our next Minister of Students.
We are looking forward to a great night at our WOW service tomorrow night. If you haven’t been to one of these yet, you are missing an incredible time of worship, prayer and fellowship. Join us at 6:30 pm. Come at 5:45 and eat dinner with us before the service if you like. You don’t need to bring anything but yourself.
Sunday is going to be another great day of worship, study and fellowship. Sunday evening the Minister of Students Search Team will meet for the first time and we will have our 3rd S.O.S. meeting. After last Sunday, God has revealed some things to me and I’m looking forward to putting them in place. RA’s and parents will have a brief meeting after worship Sunday morning.
July 4th celebration is a week from TODAY!! Help us spread the word and also, whatever help you can provide in regard to securing some donations to help offset the cost a bit. We need somewhere between $2,000 and $2,300 to come out even. Thank you in advance. We will have softball, lots of live singing, including Heather Harper and live music from the Bluez Boyz band, and just a great time of fellowship, beginning about 7pm and continuing through the fireworks, which should start around 9:15 pm.

Amen amen, I’m alive I’m alive because He lives
Amen amen, Let my song join the one that never ends, Because He lives

Because He lives I can face tomorrow
Because He lives ev’ry fear is gone
I know He holds my life, My future in His hand

Church Family,

I hope your week is going well and you are experiencing the blessings of God.  Thinking back to last Sunday’s message, I’m glad that we serve a God that loves us like no one else will, gives like it all depends on Him, and protects like the whole world is attacking.

Tonight is our 4th WOW Service. If it’s anything like the last 3, it’s going to be a WOW night. I know I keep saying it, but these services have been great. There is a fellowship that is happening that I haven’t seen the likes of in a while.

Sunday night is our next SOS gathering. There were nearly 30 at the first gathering, but we need more! We need more input, more prayer, more discussion. We will start moving closer and closer to practical things with each meeting.

Also, we will be having a VBS Workers meeting this Sunday at 4pm. ANYONE who is interested in working in VBS or who has already been recruited for a position should be at this meeting. Rickey and Stephanie need your input and it’s time to finalize the game plan for the week of July 23-27.

We will also have Church Conference at 5:30 pm with several items on the agenda, including approving VBS workers, approving increases in several budget line items due to your generous giving, a report and possible action item on the bathroom project, and electing a Minister of Students search committee. I hope to see you there. It’s going to be a full day.

Did I mention that Building & Grounds is having and eatin’ meetin’ at 11:15 am? Yes, indeed, it’s a full day this Sunday. I hope to see you here.

Here is this Sunday’s bulletin with more announcements:

Ok, I’ve saved the best news for last. HUNTER DAILEY IS HOME!!! Hunter is doing great and Eric and Kimberly are tired but feeling very blessed. Thank you for your prayers and keep them up. Anderson Bowers will be here soon too!

I hope to see you tonight!
